This training enables the participants to understand cell planning including frequency planning and traffic dimensioning. Participants will create a nominal cell plan and gain a basic understanding of the various radio network features.

On completion of this course, the participants will be able to:

·         Explain the major steps in cell planning

·         Perform power/system balances and macro cell predictions

·         Perform dimensioning of logical channels

·         Estimate the cell size from a capacity point of view

·         Frequency planning

·         Produce a nominal cell plan

·         Explain the use of different cell planning tools

·         Discuss how to increase capacity in an existing network

·         Describe some radio network features

The traffic audience for this course is radio network engineers and radio network-tuning engineers which require a general understanding of the cell planning process.
